It’s that time of year again — a chance to say goodbye to another year and reflect on the recipes you loved most on Eight Forest Lane.

One of my favourite end-of-year rituals is reviewing the past 12 months to see which recipes resonated most. This list is based on pageviews from January 1st through today and highlights the dishes you searched for, cooked, and shared the most.
I always enjoy comparing my personal favourites to yours and noticing how trends shift over time. If you’d like to see previous roundups, you can find the top 10 recipes for 2018, 2019, and 2020 on the blog. And if you’re new here, this post is a great place to begin exploring the kinds of recipes I publish on Eight Forest Lane.
10. Slow Cooker Curried Sausages
One of the newer entries featured here, this humble slow-cooked curried sausages recipe was published in 2021 and received an unexpected amount of love this year. It’s a comforting, home-style dish that’s simple to prepare and full of flavour.

9. Easy No-Bake Lamington Bars
These no-bake lamington bars narrowly missed the top 10 last year but have climbed back into the list. They’re a reliable favourite — quick to make and perfect for when you want lamington flavour without the fuss of baking.

8. Rum Balls (Dairy-Free)
A classic holiday treat, these dairy-free rum balls gain most of their traffic from November into December. They’re rich, festive, and worth adding to next year’s baking list.

7. Vegan Vanilla Cupcakes
Always popular, these vegan vanilla cupcakes are soft, simple, and free of dairy and eggs — no strange ingredients required. They’re a go-to for celebrations and everyday baking alike.

A newcomer to the top 10, this one-pot spicy sausage pasta has become a favourite weeknight dinner. It’s quick, satisfying, and ideal when you want a full meal with minimal cleanup.

5. Vegan Vanilla Buttercream
This long-standing favourite recently received an update with extra tips and tricks for making a silky, stable vegan vanilla buttercream — perfect for cakes and cupcakes without any dairy.

4. Melting Moments
I’m thrilled to see these delicate, soft biscuits from my childhood land in the top five. I tested many batches to perfect the texture, and they bake into tender little treats that are utterly moreish.

3. Vegan Sticky Date Pudding with Caramel Sauce
This sticky date pudding consistently ranks in the top 10 and has often reached the top spot. It’s decadently rich yet entirely vegan — a dessert that surprises and delights.

2. Cookies and Cream Cupcakes (Vegan)
These vegan cookies and cream cupcakes are a long-time reader favourite and the recipe I’m most often tagged in on social media. They’re indulgent, crowd-pleasing, and consistently popular.

1. Vegetable Curry Pies
For the second consecutive year, these humble vegetable curry pies claim the top spot as the most popular recipe on Eight Forest Lane. If you haven’t tried them yet, they’re a must — comforting, flavourful, and versatile.

Thank you to everyone who cooked from the blog this year. Your support — through comments, photos, and shares — means so much. You’re the reason I’m inspired to create and publish new recipes each week.
The last couple of years have been challenging, but I’m stepping into the new year feeling hopeful and free of pressure, which is a welcome change. I’m excited to share more recipes with you in the coming year.
