Merry Christmas to everyone! We’re celebrating today at home with both of our parents and most of our siblings. This year we’ve started a new tradition of spending Christmas morning here, and it already feels cozy and relaxed.
Unfortunately, I came down with a brief illness over the weekend that knocked me out for about a day and a half. That meant finishing my shopping on Christmas Eve—something I’d never done before. To my surprise it wasn’t as stressful as I feared. Now little Hunter is under the weather too; poor kid is feeling a bit off.
On the bright side, I’m getting ready to cook. For breakfast I’ll make a strata, banana-marionberry bread and a fresh fruit salad. For our midday meal we’ll have crockpot salsa verde pork with burrito fixings. First things first, though—I need to brew a pot of coffee.
Sending love and warm wishes,
Heather, Jacob and Hunter
