Creamy Orange Banana Smoothie Recipe for Tropical Energy

Orange Banana Smoothie by Deliciously Sprinkled.jpg

This Orange Banana Smoothie is a creamy, bright blend of orange juice, banana, and carrots—an uplifting way to start your morning. I make smoothies almost every day, and while my all-time favorite is a strawberry smoothie, this orange-banana version is a refreshing change. Think of it as a glass of sunshine: sweet, citrusy, and satisfying.

With vibrant orange flavor and natural sweetness from bananas, plus the mild earthiness of carrots, this smoothie is easy to prepare and full of zing. It’s a great option for breakfast or a nourishing snack.

Smoothie-making tips

✓ USE FROZEN FRUIT: Frozen bananas replace ice and keep the smoothie creamy. I buy pre-frozen bananas for convenience. If you don’t have frozen bananas, use two ripe bananas and add one cup of ice.

✓ FILL THE BLENDER PROPERLY: Add ingredients in order from soft to hard. Start with the orange juice, yogurt, and honey, then add the greens (if using), followed by frozen bananas and carrots. Finish with orange zest for extra aroma.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups orange juice
  • zest of one orange
  • 1 cup bananas, frozen
  • 1 ½ cups carrots
  • 1 cup Greek vanilla yogurt*
  • 1-2 Tablespoons honey
  • orange slices, for garnish

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into the blender, adding liquids first.
  • Blend on high for about 2 minutes, until smooth. Scrape down the sides and blend another 30 seconds to combine.
  • Pour into glasses, garnish with orange slices and zest, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Vanilla Greek yogurt works well, but plain or orange-flavored yogurt can be used instead.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. Stir or shake before serving, as separation may occur.
